Most new refrigerators come with a water filter, either in the kick-plate or the fresh food compartment. They would be accessible from the front of the refrigerator. Most are also equipped with a sensor = green is good, orange or yellow means order a new filter, and red means replace filter. If you re-set the colored sensor, it will not refresh the filter you must replace it to have the water filter properly. Most are only 6-12 month filters, after that the filter is full and won’t clean the water anymore. Also the filter runs the ice and water dispenser.
